Re: [brevardteaparty] SIGN the pledge: Americans for Prosperity

My name is Dean Paterakis, and as many of you know, I am running for the School Board. This past Tuesday I was on the Bill Mick Live Show with the incumbent, Amy Kneessy.
Amy told the radio audience that Brevard has one of the lowest administrative costs but I told her that she was being dishonest because I told her that Brevard Schools are giving administrators teacher contracts instead of supervisor contracts making it seem we have more money going to teachers and to the classroom than what we really do. Bill Mick asked her if these contracts were putting salaries under teacher contracts when actually they are in adminstrative roles.
She responded by saying she has been a board member for 8 years, no, that there is no fact or basis to what Dean is saying this morning.
I encourage you to listen to the conversation at starting it about 7 minutes into the interview.
Then I encourage you to print the actual contracts that were my principal's, my asst. principal's, human resource director's, and the two area superintendents' including my contract as a teacher. You will notice that the principal and asst principal have the correct supervisor contract but the 3 administrators who are actually in charge of the principals and schools (and make much more making more than 3 times the amount I made as a teacher) are contracted with an instructional contract which makes the perception that we are spending more on teachers and in the classroom and less on administrators.
Not only do I believe did the administrators of our schools duped Amy, the 8 year school board member, but I believe they duped the Governor Sterling Award committee believing we spend more in the classroom than we really do.
Please visit my website to enlighten yourself on more misspending and the issues that face our schools.
We need someone that is not easily fooled and will fight for the children and taxpayers.
And on a special note I have been endorsed by Bea Fowler, former Brevard School Board Member and author. On the other hand BASA (Brevard Association of School Administrators) which is similar to the teachers' union has endorsed Amy. They didn't even interview me this year so it goes to show who the administrators want to keep in. I assume they are afraid that if I get elected their gravy train would soon be in jeopardy.
Thank you for your attention to this matter and please pass it along to anyone that cares about our children, schools, and taxes.

We have more than 100,000 activists across the state of Florida who are taking action every day on behalf of the free market movement and influencing decision makers. Let sun shine on state spending – make all state contracts public, allowing for transparency
and accountability for billions of taxpayer dollars.
  3. Empower Kids with the Best Education
Expand Florida's programs for students that don't want to take the traditional public
