Thu night Bridge

Thursday night bridge.

Jason's Deli is the new location we're trying.  It is in Brier Creek, north of Glenwood Rte70, near the Barnes&Noble.  Other landmarks are about half way between Dick's Sporting Goods and the movie theater.  If you see Red Robin, Walmart, or Panera Bread then you're on the wrong side of Rte70.

We are switching to Jason's Deli because it stays open until 10:00 pm.  You do not have to stay until 10:00 pm ... you can come and go when you want.

I do not know if Meetup's "the bag of cards" will show up, so each attendee should bring one deck.

See you there!

My daughter just learned she was accepted to Carolina, so we will be toasting her this evening. I will be celebrating with a heavy heart, however, because of Martha Ann's situation.

Martha Ann: I just checked this page and was stunned to hear your news. My thoughts are with you and your son. I am pulling for the best possible recovery.

As for tonight, the roads seem to be clear in my area, so I'm up for trying if there is interest.

Well, his other leg will be amputated tomorrow below the knee at 2:30 p.m. so guess that I will not be dropping in on bridge. Thank you everybody for your kind thoughts and comments. Please keep us all in your thoughts and prayers. Thanks,

Because Tom is helping me with the dogs, it remains to be seen if I can let him loose to play bridge so he may or may not be there and if he does make it, it may be late. Jay's surgery is not until 2:30 and I won't be leaving the hospital until he is awake and back into his room.

What hospital are you going to be at? I have no set work hours tomorrow, so I could wait with you.

Hi Judy, Some people do not RVSP and it is not required. I plan to be there and expect we will have 4 or more.

It looks as though Thursday is not happening so I'll say no but will check tomorrow to see if anything changes

Martha Ann, I am so sorry to hear about your son's accident ... I am glad he saved his own life with the tourniquet... When something happens to one of our children, the pain we parents feel is more than ten fold. I will hold you and your family in my prayers!

My son was in a very serious auto accident late Sunday night and in Duke Critical Care. He lost the right leg below the knee and they are trying to save the left leg and he will have surgery tomorrow 2/29. I most likely will not be at bridge Thursday night. If I come, it will be on a drop in basis. I love Jason's and feel that it will work on Thursday nights but they are very busy and have doubts that it will work on Friday night. I hope that it does as I love the place.

Thank you Will, that really means a lot to me. Unfortunately tomorrow is when I would really need help as I would like to be there for his surgery but because of the weather, I may not be able to get there. I do have a neighbor (Tom Ward) that can also come and take care of the dogs if I can get out and to the hospital. I will not take any chances. I just found out late today that he saved his own life. He had the presence of mind to see that he was missing part of his leg, took off his belt and made a tourniquet and then called 911. Said it was all his Eagle Scout and Marine training that made that possible.
