How It Works
"Just like minded people with a healthy love of the great outdoors"
We are only as successful and functioning as all the bugs that make up this group. Like bugs, we work together. Please do contact any of the organisers if you would like to arrange a Meetup - we, as the organisers, arrange the core activities but we are also looking for your input into the club with fresh ideas.
The group has always been fun and a little wacky! Whatever your level you should find something of interest and there is a strong social element to the club too.
The group has grown rapidly in recent months and there is a £3 charge to cover the costs of keeping the group alive on Meetup and buying essential items for our Meetups. Your membership will not be approved until you have paid your £3 membership subscription via Paypal to firstname.lastname@example.org or into the Bugs bank account, after which time you are free to join any of our member run events for no extra cost.
It is up to every member to take care of themselves for any activity they sign up for. Please bring food and water on all activities and any medication that you require. Some activities may be considered 'dangerous' such as mountain biking and injuries do occur. Do not sign up to any event that you do not consider yourself fit for. The organisers accept no responsibility for any injury that may occur on any Adventure Bugs meetup. Please do read this statement before joining the club:
IMPORTANT NOTE: We consider safety to be our number one priority and while we never take unnecessary risks, we do recognise that any outdoor activity involves a danger of personal injury or death. Remember that you should be aware of and accept these risks as you are responsible for your own safety and you should not undertake anything beyond your abilities. It is also your responsibility to be correctly equipped for the weather and activity you have chosen to participate in.
The organizers of the Bugs recommend that everyone participating in outdoor activities obtain appropriate insurance. The BMC offer excellent policies for all outdoor enthusiasts at very competitive rates: https://www.thebmc.co.uk/modules/insurance/Landing.aspx.
Please DO get insurance.
