We are excited to announce that will be participating in the 2013 NAMI walk. The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) is an organization committed to raising awareness of mental health (http://www.nami.org/). They support their cause by raising money in support of programs and research to better the lives of the millions of Americans who have a mental illness or are touched by it through a loved one.
The walk is a yearly event where those interested in taking part in the fundraising effort are encouraged to form a team and set a combined goal. We saw this as a great opportunity for our organization to provide secular aid to a worthy organization.
We would love to have any interested members participate or come out and support those who do walk. If you would like to join the RRNA team then please register at the NAMI Walks site here: http://namiwalks.nami.org/RRNA?TSID=414757. The site has tools to allow you to join our team and make your own page which you could use to have people support you in our team walk.
Your RSVP here on Meetup does not commit you to actually take the walk or fundraise. It just lets everyone look forward to seeing you and other RRNAers at the event.
Check in time for the walk team is 10 a.m. The walk itself begins at 11:30 a.m.
