Raising a child is difficult enough. But, raising a secular child in today’s America? How?

Secular Events of Chicago is hosting this panel discussion of secular parenting in Chicagoland. Come and discuss issues we face as non-theistic families, share solutions and resources. Learn and share ideas from a panel of parents that have overcome many obstacles and now they can share their most profound and interesting experiences.

If you are a secular parent or planning to become one, this event is just for you. Join us!

This is the initial list of panelists:

- Mario Mouton

- Taryn Nelson Seawright

- Jose Alvarado

[This list will be updated daily]

We need your support!

To cover venue, children daycare and refreshment costs, there will be a small charge of $8 per adult attendee. CHILDREN ARE FREE. We will have daycare available.

Phil Ferguson will be our moderator.

He is a long time skeptic/atheist and avid supporter of those movements. He also wants to help children out of religion.

He is a board member of SSA (Secular Student Alliance) and former board member for AAI (Atheist Alliance International).

He is also the founder of Champaign Urbana Freethinkers and SkepticMoney.com

Phil is also an investment advisor representative with 18 years of experience. He owns his own investment company – Polaris Financial Planning. Polaris Financial Planning LLC, is a “fee-only” registered investment advisor and does not receive money from anyone other than the paying clients. Polaris Financial Planning is committed to supporting the growing secular movement in the United States and donates at least 10% of all (gross not net) revenue to support this cause.

Very sorry we can't make this - we have a conflict. We raised three secular children - now all in late twenties. It would have been a discussion we would have loved to participate in. Perhaps another time.
