Hey Russ, this is Jill

To give you a head's up, my friend Michael wanted to make a short contribution to the meeting on Wednesday.  I think it's something economics-related, but I'm not sure, he's been a bit hush hush about it.

Subject: [brights-295] GUST Darwin Eve Meetup February 11th

All Friends of GUST,

Our next regular meet up is the day before Darwin's 200th birthday anniversary, so we're going with the Darwin Day theme.

Darwin Day is a global celebration of science and reason held on or around Feb. 12, the birthday anniversary of evolutionary biologist Charles Darwin. This year marks the 200th anniversary of Charles Darwin's birth.

Think about contributing something to this meeting. It could be 5-10 minutes or even less. Keeping with the theme it could tied to Darwin, science and/or reason, but it doesn't have to be. You could share a favorite quote, a story, ask the group a question, or whatever strikes your imagination. We'll try anything that's not too long at least once.

We'd like to get more people more involved in the prep for each meeting. Maybe Skepticamp will help. I think it would be good if our meetings were at least somewhat more like that. (If you don't know what it is, Google "Atlanta skepticamp", its on February 7th.) Sorry I won't make it but I have a previous commitment to another major Atlanta Geek Fest (Atlanta Groundhog Juggling Festival).

If you know what you might like to do or if you want to semi-commit yourself to think about it, send us a note. We'd like to line up at least a couple people.

Thanks,
Russ
