This was my first bus tour and it was all I expected and more. It was busy but we saw so much in a week. I really enjoyed all the historical places and country side. The tour guide put it all in prospective and had a great wit that kept us laughing. This was such a great experience with the friendly folks taking the tour to share, laugh and look after each other. I am so happy that I joined this trip to Ireland.

Emerald Ireland was green with beauty, warm with wonderful people and amazing with beautiful places to see and visit. A trip to remember and treasure!

Thank you, Jacki, for an unbelievable experience! The tour was packed with so much; we certainly got our money's worth. It was well organized, beautiful, and most importantly, FUN! For a group that didn't even know each other, we all developed great friendships. So --- when are we getting together for an Irish music night? Hopefully, soon! Thank you again. Sincerely, Donna p.s. I'm now looking forward to what we can do together next time :)

Now all we need to do is find an Irish Pub in the area that does Karaoke. Get those singing voices ready - I think the Shooting Star Hotel is calling us! LOL!

Jacki, thanks for all your hard work and patience in organizing such a wonderful trip for all of us. It was a fabulous trip to Ireland, a memory I will treasure. The Emerald Isle was amazing! I met some wonderful people especailly the ones in Brightside travelers. I know I wasn't able to keep up with all of you but you were all so good and patient with me. I certainly appreciate your kindnesses so much. I hope we can continue our friendships with a get together. The pictures are fantastic!

Where is the local AAA branch that had euros? I went to Framingham, had to order them, and stand in long lines both to order and pick up $200 in euros. I am afraid I probably need more --- would rather avoid charges at ATM, etc in Ireland. What local AAA branches have the euros on hand?

    September 1, 2013

      thanks, Kevin.

Hi Jacki - I am very interested in going with your group to Ireland. If I wanted to extend my stay 1 or 2 days, am I able to do so? I really would like to do a 'roots' search as my family was from both Cork and Galway. Best Regards, Donna

    May 31, 2013

    • Jacki R.

So glad you are interested. Yes you can extend your stay if you like.

    • Donna M.

      You're very welcome, :)

      September 1, 2013

  • Jacki R.

That is correct they have them at hand, but they told me if you do the $200 minimum and wait 2 business days you will get the better exchange rate and avoid the $10 fee.

    1 · August 16, 2013

  • Rrea

I had called my AAA branch and no notice was needed for Euros, they have Euros on hand. Definitely call ahead to your branch to check. Waiting to for the name of the app for the phone to text for free.

As far as electronics and voltage conversion-if the appliance or charger is stamped with the 100v to 240v then it will work in Ireland. The item is adaptable to the different voltage. All you need Is the simple plug converter not a voltage converter.

    August 16, 2013

  • Jacki R.

If you are a member of AAA, you can get Euros from the AAA branch. It is best to purchase a minimum of $200 with cash (not credit card) for the best exchange rate. You will have to wait 2 business days to get it and save the $10 fee. You will get around $175 in Euros. I just did it that way.

Hi, I am not going with you guys this time because I just got back from a similar trip in May. Just want to say don't miss kissing the Blarney Stone - so much fun and you can purchase an amazing picture of yourself kissing the stone at the exit. Have fun!!!

Hi Everyone! So sorry I was not able to connect with you all at the get together last Sunday. I do a fair amount of international travel and just wanted to mention that in addition to the comments made here about currency exchange - you can also exchange money at Logan (there is a fee and the exchange rate is not always the best) - but in a pinch it will do. I usually bring a small amount of the currency over with me and then when I get to my international destination, I hit the ATM at their airport (haven't had a problem yet finding one while traveling abroad (Ok, maybe once while I was on Safari in Africa), and usually get a better exchange rate, Just my 2 cents. Look forward to seeing you again, Jacki, and meeting everyone else.

Good morning, late comer to this group, interested in this trip.. Wouldn't have a roommate any one still out there wanting to go. Lastly is the total amount due by May 13?

    March 22, 2013

    • Jacki R.

Excellent. Once I ge that, I will send an email blast for a roommate. It usually works.

Hi, I am really intersted in going to Ireland but don't have a roommate. Also, I need the insurance in case my 95 year old Mom gets sick. Do you have any suggestions? I haven't traveled with you yet. Thanks

    October 8, 2012

    • Jacki R.

Glad you are interested. I think if you read the roommate paragraph in the description that should answer your question. You have time to find a roommate as we get many people looking for roommates and if by chance you do not find one or we can't find one for you, you will get your deposit back.

      October 8, 2012

    • Jacki R.

Maureen - looks like Lynn would like a roommate too. Also, you still have time to get the travel insurance in (2 weeks). Please refer to the full description for details above.
