I enjoy most genres of movie, but I especially enjoy movies which have a strong moral or humanitarian message (e.g. Casablanca, Gattaca, Into the Wild, etc.)
The British/French/Israeli co-production "ZAYTOUN" starring Stephen Dorff was a complete surprise. It put a human face to the Israel-Lebanon conflict of the 1980s, without being overly simplistic or sentimental. A very powerful film with a gentle touch of hope in a region of the world which seems to be forever in conflict.
I think that my all-time favorite movie would have to be "Casablanca." It is a great blend of romantic-thriller, with a very powerful and moving moral message.
