Help with Internet Setup

From: Don K.

I have a MySql database on a server and being connected to by several people using an MS Access front end from their PCs which have dynamic IP addresses.

Within MySql we have to nominate the Remote Host IPs which can connect to the database. We could put % to accommodate the variable IP addresses but that is not a good security practice.

I understand this can be accommodated by using either a Dynamic Domain Name System or port forwarding with SSH or a Virtual Private Network and in the Remote Hosts you put a list of the hosts that are permitted through the firewall.

Has anyone done this?   I’m looking for paid help to set it up.
Don Keating.
