Wolf & Firkin (map)
Hey all,
I am very pleased to announce our April meetup will be a St Georges day pub quiz (April 23rd)!
This event should be great fun and there will be nice British treats for the winning team. The meetup will be held at the 'Wolf & Firkin' pub on elm st and I have managed to get the whole downstairs space for us, so we should be easy to find.
Looking forward to seeing everyone there!
Take care
Dan
Sorry, wasn't able to come in the end. Definitely don't want to miss May's meet as hoping to meet some peeps for supporting England in the world cup with. My Canadian wife is only good up to a point on that! ;-)
What an amazing turn out, thanks all for making it a great night!!

The Toronto Brit Meetup Group is a social meetup of individuals, ranging from Brits who are 'New to Toronto' all the way through to the offspring of Brit parents as well as those who have lived and/or worked in the UK at some point.
So don't be shy, we were all new at one point or another and we all come to meet new friends anyway so, we will welcome you with open arms (or a handshake if you prefer). If you're worried about coming alone, bring a friend if you like and they don't have to be British.
Events are held every 2 weeks (Middle and End of the Month) Our End of Month events are held in Toronto and our Mid-Month events are held in the West (Mississauga, Oakville, Burlington). The location changes every time so we have a good variety of venues to keep things fresh.
We hold PUB QUIZ/TRIVIA nights every other Month and they go down a Storm!
SO, if you fear you are losing your accent; want to go somewhere you wont be mistaken for being from the southern hemisphere; want to be understood when using real sarcasm; or just want to refresh your sense of humor this group works wonders!

The text on the front reads:
Some of the best things about being British are that we know 'it's good to talk' to each other and that with a 'no nonsense' attitude, we can become 'exceedingly good' at whatever we set our minds to. If one were to package what it means to be British it would include 'a glass and a half' of the good stuff and with 'nowt taken out' it 'does exactly what it says on the tin' leaving you wanting to exclaim, 'you only get an 'OO' 'aah' Cantona... or maybe not... bovvered? Yeah but, no but... Whatever anyone else says, we know that GMT means we are the centre of the universe and if you ever find yourself too far from home, remember these words, 'Listen very carefully, I will say zis only wance', 'at the third stroke, the time sponsored by accurist' ... is now and that 'your country needs you' to keep up the good work, 'be the best' and to remember that to be 'never knowingly undersold' is better than being 'reassuringly expensive.'
The emblem contains four images, a Bulldog, a Teapot, a Bobby's hat and a Cricket player, the text around the outside reads: "Long live the King, God save the Queen, you can tell we are British wherever we are seen."

We would honestly love to be there with you, but we are stuck in Blighty, STILL waiting for the results of our medicals before we can complete our visa applications!! This is taking sooooooooooo long!
