BHA Choir Rehearsal

Rehearsals

Rehearsals are on Tuesday between 6.45pm and 9pm with optional drink afterwards.

Please aim to get to rehearsals at about 6.45pm so that we can get registration out of the way and start warming up promptly at 7pm, and join us for a drink if you would care to in the pub afterwards. Entrances is via the back of the car park on Hatfields, not the main entrance to the Nautical School. See 'how to find us' for full details.

This Term

This term will be a 13-week term and we are encouraging new members for the first four weeks. We are working towards performances in June at the Hackney Empire and at our own concert, One Life, at The Nave in Islington.

Music for rehearsals can be found on our website.

Money
Weekly (min) fee of £5 per rehearsal or £50 by bank transfer before 16 April. See website for more details. Talk to Stells our Treasurer if you have any queries or problems.

Origins
The choir was set up in May 2009 with a legacy dedicated to the composition of some humanist songs, and the creation of a choir to sing them. We have since performed in London and round the UK at humanist events, stand-up comedy gigs, private parties and our own concerts. In due course, we hope to make recordings, and perform at weddings and funerals.

The BHA
The British Humanist Association (BHA) is the national charity working for non-religious people who seek to live ethical and fulfilling lives on the basis of reason and humanity. You don't have to be a BHA member to sing with us, but we encourage choir members to join the BHA. Find out more about humanism at http://www.humanism.org.uk.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
