We are learning 'Woody Allen Jesus' by Tim Minchin - he's very interested to hear the final result. To get an idea of the song see (just imagine it in multipart harmony):

Important: Run Up to December Performances
The next five practices will be very focused on getting one song polished to sing on a west end stage on the evenings of 16th and 22nd of December. If you are not an able singer, cannot manage 16th and 22nd December or cannot attend at least 4 of the practices, then the start of 2013 would be a better time to join us, as things will then be more relaxed. For now, we need people to working hard for these performances.

Please be prompt. We promise it'll be fun.

Fees
We are non-profit making but we need to cover our costs, so ask for a £5.00 donation at each rehearsal. You can pay by cash on the night, or if you'd prefer, we offer a 10 percent discount for paying in advance by direct debit. Talk to Stells our Treasurer if you have any queries or problems.

Logistics
It would be helpful if you could bring a black folder and a pencil. If you are able to print out new material prior to a practice we would appreciate that, as we may only have limited copies of new material available.

Awesome. Looking forward to next week.

Really enjoyed it, started to get the cobwebs out of my voice again! Thank you :-)

I'm interested in being part of the performance but I have a concern: I'm not sure if I would call myself a strong singer but having said that I aim to be professional and am committed. I've been a part of a little choir performance at uni before but not for a long time now. What do you think?

Hi Darshana, come along tonight & we can speak about all these items. I'm on[masked] 371. Sophie

I think I'm going to have to join in the more relaxed new year, too. Look forward to it, and in the meantime, break a leg in the west end!

I've decided to not become active until the New Year because I have a regular gym class on Tuesday evenings and cannot give this the commitment, nor guarantee being availableon 16th and 22nd December. I wish you all the best.

No problems, we look forward to seeing you in the new year.

If you can make one of the dates that should be okay.

Having read the above I think I will wait until the New Year to become active in the choir. I'd love to come to the performances in December though. Good luck with all the rehearsals and please do let us know which west end stage you are on!

Like some others in this thread - just found/joined this group. I'm pretty sure I can do Tuesday evening rehearsals for the next few weeks and I am available on 22nd - but probably not 16th (cousin-in-law getting married that weekend). I generally sing 2nd tenor. I had a look on the website, but the links to scores are broken :(

      The scores should work now!

Great, thanks Stew - I'll take a look at that then, shame the "I'm not saying I'm Jesus bit isn't in this arrangement" given I have the long-hair beard look too :)

I have just joined. I appreciate the need for a focused committed group , to rehearse your new piece, and wanted to find out the performance dates before coming along and letting anyone down. Cheers

Please come along on Tuesday, if you can make the 22nd, we'd love you to join. What part do you sing?

Similarly to Jemma, I can make the 16th but possibly not the 22nd, though I will try to rework my commitments.

Hello! I'd like to drop in this coming Tuesday to see what you're up to. Unfortunately some of my Tuesdays in the next few weeks are already spoken for but I read music well. As an experienced composer/arranger, also interested in developing new material.

Hi Margaret, we try to start our warm up at 7pm sharp, have a short break at 8pm and close at 9pm. Hope that helps. s

A note to new members; our next five rehearsals will be very focused and intense. We need to get to a high standard with very little rehearsal time ahead of us. If you're happy to commit to the next five Tuesdays and two evening performances then we'd love to see you. If you're looking for a relaxed, social singing experience (which at other times of the year we are very much about) then probably better to join in the New Year.

Banned by ITV1, verbose and challenging; "Woody Allen Jesus" sung by Godless people in four-part harmony, bring it on.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
