Hi Everyone,
By request, we will be reading Dreams of Trespass by Fatima Mernissi for our October book discussion. Here is a brief description..."I was born in a harem in 1940 in Fez, Morocco..." So begins Fatima Mernissi in this exotic and rich narrative of a childhood behind the iron gates of a domestic harem.

Also, on another note, my role as coordinator of the book club ends in December. I know it seems like forever from now, but if you are interested in coordinating the book club for 2013, please let me know. All you have to do is choose a book each month (many of these are suggested by our group) and schedule the monthly meetup.

I hope you enjoy the book!

I hope I can make the meet-up tomorrow. I haven't read the book yet but I am very interested in this topic because I worked in the middle east for one and half years.

Yesterday. I twisted my back. Will carefully get out of bed and see if I can get there. In the meantime I will change my RSVP to no to allow someone waiting. What is the book for next month?

I would like to attend but I just joined the group and have not read the book. Perhaps november would be more suitable. Thanks

Hey, Mary, following the cool book of blank slate, u might want to tee up Ken Wilber's a brief history of everything in some future month...they dovetail quite well

Your October title sounds fascinating. I am afraid that I'll not be able to come on October 28, but I am planning on reading the book. Hopefully in November..................
