I had interest for a looong time. I'm part Lebanese and Syrian but because my family has grown so far into the American culture, I feel that the dance is my way to artistically channel/stay in touch with my culture on a much deeper level.
Over a year at my sister's art gallery showing. My first teacher was Leilani Mixon who inspired me to grow further in confidence with the dance. It didn't take long before it became my passion. I currently study with Myriam Eli & Maria Jammal.
a friend; I have been studying/performing in Theatre since I was 10 and never thought I'd study pure dance but life takes you to the right places!
I've been studying Middle Eastern dance for about 9 years and definitely appreciate this group, enabling me to stay in touch with what is going on in the belly dance community.
Thanks for all the work you put into organizing these events!
