Your best bet is to play online. That may sound scary, but there are plenty of sites (eg pokerstars) that have play money sections, so you dont need to spend any real money. There will be guides online too about how to play, but its best getting some practice in for free before handing over (and quite probably losing) your money. There are also some free live games around Bristol. Just google Bristol Poker League for venues.
