  • This location is shown only to members

  • Depart Friday afternoon and caravan over, set up camp and relax.

Campsite no. 149 at St Andrews State Park. Confirmation number is necessary for free admission to park and will be provided to participants when RSVP.  They only allow 8 people per camp site and a total of 2 tents.  We have one tent, so please let us know who would like to share our site as well as how many will be sharing your tent or how many can share your tent.  The sites are $93.46 for the 3 nights so this will shared among those that share this site.  If you are not confirmed to share our site, then you will need to make your own arrangements, please let us know in your RSVP.

As for diving schedule/cost, see below:

Saturday, either an early dive at the Jetties or a charter, then relax on the beach and have a group cookout.

Sunday: early morning Jettie dive or/and a charter.  We can plan this as time gets closer but we can either dive the jetties in the am and then arrange for a charter or go on a morning charter and forego the jetties.

Monday: early morning Jettie dive, pack up stop somewhere for lunch and head home :)

*Charter: Dive Locker.  They offer a 3 tank charter for $109 per person, plus gratuities and air.

Hey Shannon - glad to see that you're able to make the trip! Are you guys intending to camp? If so, Mike & Deann still have the site reserved so catch up with them to work out the details about payment, etc. (It's prepaid) Also, if you want to do the charter you'll need to contact Tina at the Dive Locker to get your name(s) on the list as soon as possible. Look forward to seeing y'all there!

Okay I will keep the site for at least this week, so if anyone is interested, the site is clear for 8 peeps/2 tents and there is a great charter lined up. Stephen will be host, but remember it is your responsibility to take care of setting up your dives and any equipment, etc. I will have to give whomever the reservation number, so please let me know if want it.

I would love to check this out and in time I know I will, but camping alone (and yes, I know I wouldn't be totally alone) doesn't seem too fun to me, so I will go help Michael and Pops.

Hey kids - I called Tina @ the Dive Locker in PCB today about charter availability. Both of their boats are full on Sat AM (8/31) doing 2-tank trips & there's only a few spots open on 1 boat for the Sun AM 2-tank trip due to a big group in town. However, she said if we have @ least 3-4 people she can start a 2-tank afternoon trip for us so I put my name down to start one. Thomas/Chris - if you're good w/this give her a call @[masked] ASAP. She said they'll prob fill up the boat before that time once a list is started so don't wait too long. We meet @ the shop @ 1:30pm to fill out papers & pay, then drive 10 min down the street to the boat docked @ Grand Lagoon Marina. We should be back to the dock by ~ 6:30pm. Cost is $79+ tax & if you need tanks it's $5 each for air or $6 for 32%. Max distance will be 8 miles out of the pass & depths from 65-75'. Also doing a PM trip allows us to dive the jetties all 3 mornings (Sat, Sun & Mon) AND still do a charter. Your thoughts?

Outstanding you guys/gals! There's the minimum 4 so let's see who else we can get to join us.

Hey guys/gals, I (Michael) will not be attending as I will be helping my very first dive buddy ( my Pop's) move back to the Sunshine state, since he finally decided to retire from both work and living in snow...lol... However there are a few really great divers going and I know First hand that if you have any questions or need a good buddy, Stephen is the GuRu on this trip...:)

Is there a benefit to being in that corner of the park (by your site in the northwest corner of the park) rather than being in the east part of the park closer to the inlet?

    May 12, 2013

    • Stephen

Yes, 2 of them that are pretty important - shade and some semblance of privacy. The last time I check the website the sites that were still available were either out in the open (read: blazing sun) and/or right on top of the next site with little to no buffer between them. Plus with the boat ramp located at the eastern end of the camping area there's a LOT more day-use traffic (foot & vehicle) milling around those sites which will be heavier than normal due to the holiday weekend. All of that said it's still a great park with sugar-white sand beaches and beautiful water.

Got it. That definitely makes sense.

I have reserved a separate campsite (#148) for myself, Janice and our 2 kids. Can't wait to see the old stomping ground again.

I have a 6 person cabin tent I can bring with closeoff to make a separate room for gear and equipment
