Because this is a long weekend - we decided to stop Foodie Friday for this week.  Thanks Marcus for suggesting this Foodie Tuesday!

A Highly Recommended Authentic Thai Food Restaurant -
U and I Thai

With her first entrepreneurial venture being the owner of a street food truck in Bangkok, the owner, Ui Ratsomjit (pronouced U) spent much of her time prepared fresh foods such as her Green Papaya Salad, Satays, & Gapow Stir Frys for the local hungry patrons. Her style of cooking comes from the North East of Thailand "Isaan" where she is from and this a strong influence in all our dishes. Our Chef Maitee (Mike) Yangsuwan comes from the South of Thailand. His experience includes working with the Au Prau Resorts in Thailand for over 10 years. His Southern style influences our Curries and Stir Frys.

Again a great BBT crowd; but I only gave the restaurant 3.5 stars out of 5 as it was obvious that they rushed the orders as they were packed. They even gave us a half bowl of rice instead of a full one. Overall they disappointed me as there was a strong hint of what they could really do if they took the time to do it right. The red curry duck sauce was excellent but the duck was slightly overcooked. The sambal beef was badly overcooked. The pad thai was OK. The lamb masaman was selected for the number of interesting spices (non-hot spices) that were traditionally used and it was good but the spices seemed downplayed a little so that extra perkiness was not there. Dishes are small with the prices should have been better.

Normally I wander from one side of the tables to the other but the restaurant was so packed, it was not possible so I did not get to chat with everyone. Hope the others on the other half had a better food experience, however, I gave 5 stars for the company. ;-)

Let's make it 12 for now as it is a Tuesday. If we actually get enough people, we can always try to ask for their private room. But apparently they are busy every day of the week so we may need to know who is coming by Sunday night. Thanks!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
