budapest.rb meetup 2014/01

Happy New Year to everyone! I'd like to announce the next budapest.rb meetup, which we're going to hold on the 16th of January, in DiNa's office.

Talks:

• Viktor Vad: Vagrant and Ansible for Web Development OR new life for PHP programmers as Ruby programmers (TBA) (maybe you should comment which topic are you interested in)

• Kir Shatrov: Go (golang) in the context for Ruby developers

• Florian Motlik: Packer, which allows you to build Vagrant machines or even AWS Images, written in Go ;)

Pizza is provided by us, so please update your RSVP in time, if you decide you won't come.

See you!

My presentation is available here: http://prezi.com/yt8nzqahbdfs/?utm_campaign=share&utm_medium=copy

I will package my Vagrant and Ansible config for you later today.

We could do a talk about Packer, which helps with building Virtual machine images for Vagrant or AWS. All from one json file. Held it recently at another Ruby User Group in Linz

Yes that would make an excellent extension of my presentation!

      That would be awesome!

I'm really looking forward to see Viktor's slides about Ansible.
We're using Chef, but I heard a lot of references about how lightweight and easy Ansible is.

I've heard of a case when they moved from ansible to chef. I'll try to get details.

Do not expect too much as I have no more than a month experience with provisioning tools, but I just tell you what I got to know, what I experienced and how did it go for me. I won't be able to join the veterans' talk.

The "new life for PHP programmers as Ruby programmers" would only be a 5 minute short I believe.

I'm really interested in that as well, so if you can put that into your presentation, it would be awesome

I just pull it off for the very last talk I think to let the technical debates go first.
