September 29, 2013
Buddhist Faith Fellowship,
Mansfield Freeman Center of East Asian Studies,
343 Washington Terrace, Middletown, Ct
12:30 – 2:30 p.m.
Newbies, beginners and the curious and the general public are invited to attend our free of charge seminar.
This special informal Q & A Seminar will explore what Buddhists believe and experience, their practices and rituals. If you are new to Buddhism, this is a great way to listen, learn and ask questions of certified lay teachers in a warm and caring environment.
Some of these questions that can be explored: What is the purpose of life? Why do we suffer? What does it mean to be a limited being? Who was the Buddha? What is the Buddhist path? What is the Shin Buddhist path? Why should we meditate and what are its limits? How do I meditate? What is faith? Why do Shin voice the nembutsu? Is the Buddha of Immeasurable Life and Light a God? What is karma? What is rebirth? Is Other Power the same as Higher Power? Is the Pure Land a heaven? How do I practice in my daily life? How can Buddhism transform my life?
*No need to RSVP. Wear casual clothing and do not forget to bring lunch.
