Our Mindful Eating Group
2nd Organizational Meeting on Thursday Oct 21,
Cromwell, Ct @ 7 p.m.
We are extending our invitation to help the BFF of Ct establish a new Buddhist group in Connecticut that will be dedicated to mindful and healthy eating and exercising using a holistic approach combining Buddhist spirituality and the science of modern nutrition. There are a few books available on this topic but we will be using Savor written by Thich Nhat Hanh and Dr. Lilian Cheung. We highly recommend this book.
On that Thursday evening, we will continue to set up the following
1. basic philosophy
2. meeting format
3. Modify our Gathering Book
6. length and content of discussions
8. web site content
Are you interested? Then, attend this organizational meeting in Cromwell on Thursday. October 21 at 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. If you can?t come, then look for future announcements on when it will be officially inaugurated in the end October or early November.
As a reminder: inspired by the book Savor, our Mindful Eating Group will focus on such things like:
1) The Buddhist perspective on weight control
3) Regular exercise
4) Reflection of inner motivations & obstacles
5) How to really appreciate your food
6) Living in the present moment
7) Actions plans for mindful eating and living
8) Helping create a more mindful world around us
