I’d like to share an interesting line from the sci-fi movie “The Day the Earth Stood Still”:
“You say we are on the brink of destruction and you are right. But it is only on the brink that people find the will to change. Only at the precipice do we evolve.”
This inspired some thought about our habits and the idea of changing ourselves... Let’s meet up and discuss!...
- Do you think the above quote is accurate? How, if at all, does it apply to our lives in terms of behavioral/lifestyle evolution?
- How can we become more aware of our habits when they are so – habitual!?
- Can we change ourselves / these habits? “Should” we change ourselves or accept ourselves as we are, according to Buddhist thought?
- Are attempts at change just another way of staying in control?
Here’s also a link to an interesting article on the topic of “bad” habits, to inspire some thought :)
Hope you can join the discussion!
