What is your relationship / experience with Buddhism, if any?

I am fairly new to it, or have just started watching DVD's, reading books, that sort of thing. However, I have meditated for many years (over 10) and am discovering that perhaps I have been practising Buddhism all along. Not completely, and not always that well, but....you can always "just do it," which I love. All I have to do is remind myself.

Which questions or topics would you like to talk about?

I'm open to anything. I might just listen for awhile. Mostly I want to hear what others are saying about it. I have a good friend who recently said to me when I said I was very interested in Buddhism, "Oh, Buddhism is a very hard practice." Not sure what she meant by that...not sure I agree. Oh, I also can go to Tibet anytime I want and I want to know if others in the group have and what it was like. I have an open invitation to China and also, want to know temples I shouldn't miss.

Have you read the "About Us" page ? (http://buddhism.meetup.com/578/about/)

Yes, and I LOVED it! The pictures are beautiful, but mostly I was so happy to see a page with resources to practise Buddhism in New York. I just looked up "New York Buddhist Temples" last night and am happy to have found my resource this morning! But that is how Divination works...

Hi, My name is Michelle and I am an artist and art teacher. Iwork with "Light" and "Reflection" in my art work, mostly working with broken glass, glitters (expensive ones), beads, anything that is reflective in nature. I work with Divination.
