You can participate at several levels, financially, provide food, sleeping bags, hygiene items, backpacks, and blankets.

All the supplies go to the members of the homeless community. It starts Sunday night at 6 pm in front of Mahafee Theater with a meal, then an interfaith service. You can call me at[masked] or email me at [masked]. Thanks, Rev. BRuce Here is the info.: November 25th - 28th 2007 Rally With the Homeles!

To all who are dismayed by the dehumanization and criminalization of our homeless brothers and sisters. Join us on Nov. 25th- 28th when the eyes of the world will be on St. Petersburg for the Republican Presidential Candidate Debate. This is our opportunity to bring a new vision of hope, justice and righteousness for the homeless and economically disadvantaged living in our community and to send the message that the City of St. Petersburg must DO THE RIGHT THING!

Join Houses of Worship, Trade unionists, Students, and concerned citizens, as we join with the homeless community for THREE days of non-violent protest, prayer, & solidarity.

We will be asking Mayor Baker and City Council to honor these FOUR requests:

That the Mayor, City Council and St. Pete Police Dept sign the Resolution that was UNAIMOUSLY passed by the Interfaith Shelter Workgroup (part of the Pinellas County Homeless Coalition), that reads: ?We of the Interfaith Shelter Planning Workgroup? request a letter from the Mayor, City Council, and Chief of Police that the creation of Pinellas Hope will not be used to enforce or coerce, and that if a homeless individual in St. Petersburg chooses not to participate in Pinellas Hope, they will not face fines or arrests based on St. Petersburg?s Ordinance 815G (tents in right-of-ways); 816G & 817G (sleeping in right-of-way)." That any new shelter for the homeless be co-governed and co-managed by the homeless.

Pinellas Hope is ONLY for homeless individuals without children! There are HUNDREDS of homeless families WITH CHILDREN living in St. Pete, and there are only a few shelter spaces available. The City of St. Petersburg should immediately implement the proposal from the homeless and advocates, "Moving from the Tent City Model to Flow-Thru Temporary Housing- From Tents to structures." (To see the entire proposal go to HYPERLINK http://www.freewebs.c... )

That there be NO criminal checks at the Pinellas Hope Tent City. Help supply meals and supplies to our homeless brothers and sisters 11/25-28th!
