Seven Seas Sailing Center has a Friday night sailing event open to people with any or no experience. Their experienced captains will take out anyone who shows up in 20-30 foot sailboats (small enough to be fun and near the water, big enough that there is no danger of getting wet) for about two hours, and then people can hang out and tell stories/eat food afterwards. There is a modest cost of $20 per person. I have discovered sailing this summer, and it is relaxing, exciting, beautiful and intriguing all at the same time.

The Sailing center is underneath the Buffalo Skyway at the RCR Yachts River Marina. Getting there is slightly challenging due to the cronstruction on Route 5. You have to be going North on Route 5, and take the last exit ramp just before the highway becomes elevated and goes over the harbor, then turn towards the Coast Guard station, and take the first right into the river Marinas. Seven Seas is at the southern end of the RCR marina. for more information, look at the website http://sevenseassaili... , or shoot me a message. I will be there, and hope to see some of you too.

You may be able to walk there, but it would be rather round about. The Sailing Center is across the channel from the General Mills plant. Close to the historic harbor by water, but a bit somewhat remote by land.

Do you know if the harbor can be reached by foot from the rail?

No experience required. Just wear comfortable clothes, and you may want to bring a light jacket.

    •  Perfect evening to go out on the water. Things were a bit crowded because of a strong turnout, but everyone I spoke to seemed to have a great time. Will definitely do this again.
    •  This was a beautiful and relaxing outing!
    •  It was a lot of fun!! What a great way to be introduced to sailing! I highly recommend such an exertion.
    •  I really enjoyed it and felt it was a great value. I met some very interesting and friendly people and felt very comfortable. It was the first Meetup I intended. I liked it so much I am considering taking the sailing course.
