This is/should be a fairly easy hike, I never have fully explored the area, but there is a nice stream with a little waterfall in the Park, we can check that out, and all the trials. It shouldn’t take too long to explore the area.

I have never done this hike, but I know when Pete posted it back in April a lot of people rsvp for it and it was rained out. If anyone has any questions or needs further details on directions. Check the website out for directions, or contact Seth or I regarding directions.

(Continued Directions from last comment) Grand St. will come to an open Y-tye intersection, and you will need to go left onto Gooding St. Stay on Gooding St. for a bit less than a mile and it will become W. Jackson St. Another mile and you will be at the Gulf Wilderness Park. There is no parking lot, but there is a sign and a round millstone beside the road, just a few hundred feet past where it crosses the creek. We can park long the road and meet by the millstone. Hope to see you there!

Here is a bit more information about getting to the Park. If you are coming from Buffalo or vicinity, the best bet will be to take I-990 North until it ends. Then go North (left) on Millersport Hwy until it ends at Transit Rd. Take Transit North (left again) into Lockport and across the Erie Canal. Here is where it gets a little tricky--Route 78 diverges from Transit Rd. about 7 blocks past the Route 31 intersection. Follow Route 78 as it turns right on Grand St.

My first semester residency is this weekend, Friday and Saturday. Should be good to go for Sunday, but will wait and see. Sounds great as long as it is a 'dry' day!

The trails are nestled in a stream-cut ravine, and the leaves should be gorgeous this time of year. Hope to see you all there!

    •  I got there late 'cause the directions weren't great.. whoops, but a couple others who got there late and I hiked a little. It was a beautiful day and a pretty place that I now know about. win win.
    •  I just want to apolgize to the group for running late, and not having a chance to chat with everyone. I hope everyone had a nice time on the first hike, the scenary and the second hike was beautiful. Thanks Seth, Mike, and Christine for waiting with me and making sure my car was pulled out of the ditch ok. I'll see everyone at the next hike or event.
    •  More people than expected showed up for a beautiful autumn day at the park. We had a good time hiking and getting aquainted.
    •  Shorter hike worked out well because we had to work after. First time doing anything with a Meetup group the people were friendly and made us feel a part of the group will be joining them again in the future
    •  Very friendly folks, and a nice hike on a beautiful day.
