lori-i have a pair of boy's waterproof rubber soled/foot area and leather uppers. keeps me dry and warm. use whatever will keep you dry. don't need to special purchase them for snowshoeing.

Bala, Snow shoes can be rented at Eastern Mountain Sports located on Niagara Falls Blvd or Gear for Adventure located in Hamburg. Does anyone know of other places locally?

Thanks Carl. I'm on my way to pick the shoes from Eastern Mountain Sports :)

    Mary Ann,
Tillman is a great venue for the beginner snow shoer. Although Travis can run marathons I am sure he will take it easy.
