Buffalo Lab is participating in HallWalls' 25th Artists and Models, and we need to get our installation ready. The theme for the show is "True Defective"
This was our proposal:
“It is not heroes that make history, but history that makes heroes.”
Buffalo Lab is a member driven community workshop pioneering advances and education in electronics, 3D printing, information technology, and applied hyperspatial quantum field theory. We hold classes and workshops and partner with local institutions to help make Buffalo better.
Today we're trying to stop Hitler.
Buffalo Lab developed the temporal transition device on August 29th, 2084. By entering the particle chamber, you will arrive at a time and place proximal to the life of Adolf Hitler. If it works.
The horrors of war and genocide has scarred our world for far too long. We have to change it. Every possible path must be explored, Anything and everything must be done to avoid the unfolding of the history we know. Some people say we need to avoid time paradoxes. We call those people sympathizers.
First, you will need equipment and training. Stopping Hitler is challenging, dangerous work and our rapid prototypers are ready with the extruded thermoplastic you'll need to fit in and get the job done.
First, you will be tested by the Alternatime Determinator, which will tell you whether the person you are now would still exist if you changed the past. Not that it should matter, given what's at stake.
First, you will get an overview of historical deflection points. From thwarting his German citizenship to funding his art career, you will choose how our path should have forked. As we explore every possible what-if scenario, you can commit to long term solutions like promoting the German Communist Party or giving modern technology to Alan Turing.
When you are ready, You will step into the time machine and begin your adventure. If you fail, you will be returned to the moment of departure and the timeline will be reverted. Temporal distortion logs will record the nature of your failure. If you succeed, well maybe some other people will point their time machine at the future.
We require room for a two person transtemporal booth, a few training workstations, and a 3D printing area. Power will be needed for a handful of laptops and monitors, likely one dot matrix printer, and one 3D printer (~~400W)
