Why Check Out Speed Dating?
By now you know it takes meeting a number of people before you find someone you click with. (Sometimes it seems like hundreds!) The problem is, how do you meet them in the first place? There are bars, blind dates, dating services, online, etc. but they all have their disadvantages and they take time...lots of it. Plus it’s no fun if it is to risk rejection over and over again striking up conversations with people you don't even know are single,if you even get the courage to speak to them. And if the conversation goes well it is still awkward exchanging phone numbers.

With Speed Dating, you meet 8-15 singles your age range in about 2 hours. Afterwards, if there's interest (you discreetly circle on your interest sheet who you would like to hear from again), you'll get an email with links to contact these event participants. There's no pressure, no rejection, no embarrassment and no games!

It was absolutely great time met a lot of great people. As I said before it's only as much fun as what you put into it.

I registered for the 4:00 session because the 6:30 session said there was a waiting list. So I'll be there, just earlier. Maybe I'll catch up with the group at the bar.

I am sorry. I am not 40+ and I don't think I joined Meetup to find the love of my life. As the song goes, "Wookin' Pa Nub" in all the wrong places.
    ;-)
I do have one question, if this is posted in 40-50's why does it have to be posted here? Are the people who are going to this not already in the 40+ group? I am just curious.

Out of curiosity, can I assume that more people RSVP with a yes because they are registered? Also, Ann did you eventually get registered?

Hi - I did not get registered but considering your suggestion to just come for a refreshment. I hope the establishment is open to the public....

That's great Ann. I am absolutely sure it is. I look forward to seeing you there.

I have another thought also, If you RSVP yes but could not get in, why not go anyway? Its just like any other meet up. Hang out at the bar and when its done we mingle after.

Ann, try again. I just registered with no problems.

Ann, I'm sorry to hear that. It seems this event is gaining in popularity. For that I am glad. Because I think it will be a fun evening. Perhaps all the people that don't get in, we can have our own speed date meetup in the near future.

I'm with you Jim! Count me in :)

This event is also posted in the 40-50 singles. But what I want to say here is that, first of all, negativity will never offer good results. Also, speed dating is what you make of it. I think it can be fun, matter of fact I know it is. So sign up on either posting and be positive! Besides, if a number of us sign up, and we already know of each other in some way, that will make it ALL THE MORE fun.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
