I'm not a Top Ten List sort of person. Ones I return to include Jane Austen and Lois McMaster Bujold. I recently loved "Hild" by Nicola Griffith, and "Where'd You Go, Bernadette" by Maria Semple.
I cannot bear the thought of only 3 books. SPF 100 sun block, and a very large vat of fresh water. I'm really not the sort of person to go anywhere near a desert island, unless it has good hotels.
Book-it Repertory theater in Seattle did an AMAZING Pride and Prejudice. The first Hobbit movie appalled me. The padding! The Saturday morning cartoon physics! (I did not see the second.) Not sure on the Shakespeare adaptation.
Dr. Stephen Maturin. Perhaps we could chat while touring the natural history museum -- I'm sure he'd enjoy that. Dorothy Sayers or Sarah Caudwell. The time-travel wouldn't be too confusing, and they both seem so interesting!
I just moved to Pittsburgh, and I'm looking for connection. Discussing books online with my friends from afar is NOT sufficient.
