Subject: [burningman-151] New Meetup: Sunday 4 Play - Resurrection (The Sequel)

Announcing a new Meetup for Calgary Burning Man Meetup Group!

What: Sunday 4 Play - Resurrection (The Sequel)

When: Sunday, July 25,[masked]:00 PM

Where: Glamorgan Community Centre
4207 - 41 Avenue SW
Calgary, AB T3E 1G2

After several months hiatus Sunday 4 Play is back! We have a room at the Glamorgan Comm center (the same place that the "Backroom Art Gathering" was held ahead of Freezer Burn).

Here's some of what we have planned:

- Hooping, Poi, and other flying and spinning objects
- EL wire group buy (watch your email for details)
- Shade Structures 101
- costume exchange - bring what you want to lose!
(yes, I know it sounds bad - but it works out surprisingly well)
- Bass to make your booty move!

So, instead of another bland sunday, why not make yours better. This Sunday the 25th make it a play day!

Do you have some music, or talent, or skill you want to share? We want to hear from you!

So, are you one of THOSE people above, or ANOTHER kind that wants to bring something different not on the list? Either way, let us know by sending an email to [address removed], so we can let everyone else know.

And, see you happy festival go-ers on July 25th!

What are Sundays for? 4 Play!

This is a informal, free-form gathering of like-minded people. A lot of our participants are hugely involved in the music and arts festival scene - events like MoNo, Astral Harvest, Shambhala, and Burning Man. And that means they are hugely enthusiastic about all sorts of things. But, there are a few recurrent themes. All kinds of techno fans. Almost everyone is a costume fiend of some kind, and there are lots of knowledgeable costume makers. Poi, hoop, and staff spinning is very big. There are folks who like building mutant cars and art installations for the burn. The big thing that everyone seems to have in common is that they are the most open, kind, welcoming, supportive, imaginative, connective, inspiring, creative and all-around coolest group of people you could have the fortune to meet.

The goal of Sunday 4 Play is to foster and strengthen this hard-to-define community. We provide an on-going event, in which all can seek and offer knowledge, share skills and capabilities, inspire creativity, assist our fellow humans in festival-maximization, and have fun.

Each event is free-form, donation-driven, and completely informal. We make a space, and radical participation takes care of the rest. So stop by, bring your knowledge and talent, receive some lovin', use the sewing machine, play with hoops, just be :) Nothing is set in stone, there are no rules...4 play!
