Southern European songs with vihuela, lute and archlute in Bloomsbury

Come and join Musicke in the Ayre (this time with soprano Helen Atkinson who also accompanies herself on lute, and me on vihuela, archlute and bass viol) in a Mediterranean Miscellany of 16th/17th century songs and solos from Spain, France and Italy. This is the final concert in our Autumn series at the Lumen, so it would be great to have a good turnout from group members.
As before, members attending will get the concession rate of £5, so get your RSVPs in, in good time!

We will be going on to the Norfolk Arms not far away for a quick drink/bite afterwards...

For those interested to hear unusual instruments, the vihuela is a guitar-shaped lute native to 16th-c Spain. I'll be playing a copy I made of one of only 3 surviving instruments.
The archlute is a slightly smaller cousin of the theorbo: basically a medium-sized lute with added bass strings. I made mine as a copy of one in a museum in Vienna.
There'll be plenty of opportunity to have a close look at the instruments after the concert.
