Musicke in the Ayre continue their summer season of lute song concerts at the Lumen church with a programme dedicated to love, and its many aspects found in lute songs from across 17th century Europe. As well as the ancient theme of unrequited love, these cover tormented or cruel love, fleeting love, clandestine or illicit love, not to mention hopeful, joyful and contented love.
This concert is presented by soprano Philippa Neaverson with Din Ghani on lutes and vihuela. Meetup members qualify for the concession price of £5 if they're on the list!
If you'd like to come but can't make it then, a slightly reduced version of this concert will be given at 11.00 - 11.45 am the next morning at the Foundling Museum as part of their 10th birthday celebration weekend. It's at 40 Brunswick Square WC1N 1AZ, not far from the Lumen. Entry is free all weekend.
