We decided to start this group to offer a safe place for people to meet, relax in a quiet atmosphere free from finger pointing and simply to love a God who is and always has been in love with each of us.
We share God's Word in an open and refreshing way. If you love people are open to everyone's ideas and willing to accept others the way God accepts each of us and willing to grow, this group is for you.
In recent years, I have taken studies in pastoral counseling and pastoral care, and have learned that people grow as they meet in community, sharing ideas with others who listen and support their various journey's, and in a respectful manner, share the teaching's of Jesus Christ, as clearly taught by the Apostles and disciples in the homes of first-century believers.
Come with something to share, a song to sing, your favorite Bible text or story, an instrument to play or a poem to read.
We talk, pray, discuss the issues of the day and how they relate to our lives and share God's love. All we need is you.
We currently meet on Saturday mornings at The Chapel At Union Square, a place we rent at The Seafarers International House, 123 East 15th Street, NYC, on the corner of Irving Place, in the Union Square area of New York City, between Third Ave. and Irving Place.
Look for our sign in the window: The Chapel At Union Square.
Depending on how large the group is that day, you will find us as you enter the lobby of the building, by taking the stairs or the elevator to the Mezzanine level (Press "M" in the elevator) and make a right to the small conference room.
If our group is large, we will be meeting in the small chapel just to the right as you enter the lobby of the building.
If you have a special prayer request, come and share it here and we will pray for you and with you. This is a safe place where all are welcome no matter what your faith tradition or if you have no faith tradition at all.
"Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that He may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you." 1 Peter 5:6-7
We look forward to meeting you at The Chapel At Union Square, Saturday mornings at 10:00 a.m.
May God bless you today, and give you peace and a calm spirit.
