Thank you to everyone who came to the playgroup yesterday; what a fantastic turn-out! The count of dogs was 35 and I'm sure there were more than 40 people. Thanks also to all those who bought raffle tickets; we raised $102 which will be donated to Four Feet Companion Foundation-www.fourfeet.org. The winners of the draws were: Raffle #1 - green hoodie & chocolates & candy bag - The winner was Rosemary (Soda) who re-donated the hoodie and candy. Poor Soda would not be able to get into the little hoodie so thank you for re-donating it Rosemary.

Raffle #1B - green hoodie (handmade by Brenda Cuppen) & candy bag - The winner of those two items was Amanda (Lola) who looked so cute in her new green hoodie. A big thank you to Brenda Cuppen for the hoodie donation!

Raffle #2 - ceramic bowl (handpainted by me) & chocolates & candy bag) - The winner was Rhonda (Sweety).

Raffle #3 - 2 boxes of chocolates - The winner was Amanda (Bruiser) Congrats to all of you!

Hi Jennifer, it is an indoor playgroup; just bring yourself and your little one(s). The cost is $5.00 per doggie family and is due when you arrive. Chairs will be set-up and I have a few treats for us parents. See you soon.

I keep in touch with high kill shelters - mostly in th States and see a lot of small dogs (one shelter gets a lot of chihuahuas). If anyone on here could take an extra dog in, please let me know!

Last meet up was Rocky's first. He did great for about 30m and let a few strangers hold him and he was good with dogs. After about 30m I think he became very overwhelmed and got a bit aggressive with a dog and gave a warning to someone trying to touch him... Is this normal? The snippy behaviour makes me nervous but I know he needs socialized. He is still new to me and im new to owning a dog. Advice and comments welcome! Do I bring him back and keep exposing him to all the dogs and he becomes used to it , or do we not come because he will remember being so overwhelmed last time and get snippy again.

It sounds like both you & Rocky did great for your first meet-up.Rocky allowed others to hold him and he got along with other dogs. You recognized the behavior change; that it was possible it was overwhelming for him.You kept an eye on him and were able to take him away from the situation whether you decide to leave the playgroup or remove him from that particular situation at that moment. Not all dogs get along and there are times when some aggressiveness can come out;this can happen to anyone's dog at anytime. The important thing is to keep a close eye on him until he has become more comfortable with his surroundings.Hopefully, the more socializes, the more comfortable and confident he will become. Some dogs take longer to do this than others. I hope this helps - Susan
