A Vision for the Future of Television

Why would a renowned entrepreneur launch a local TV franchise when the whole industry predicts that the Internet will kill broadcast television? Find out when Peter Dawe describes for us his unique vision of the future of this medium, within the context of a local TV licence and the Internet.

Cambridge Presents Ltd, part of the Dawe Group of companies, is launching a local TV station for Cambridge, and looking to make its influence reach beyond its Cambridge (FreeView Channel 8) transmission area.

With nearly 30 local TV channels able to broadcast 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for 12 years, there is massive scope for independent and innovative programme producers to air their productions. Take this opportunity to hear how Cambridge Presents will motivate independent producers to make programmes!

Brave of them to pitch to a creative and critical audience when they weren't ready. Curious to see the next version.

Yes, that could have turned hostile! Luckily everyone seemed very receptive and willing to contribute.

Its a shame, I'm sorry I won't be able to come to this event now as I am doing a rock choir rehearsal on the same night (which I only received information of just now) Its a shame, as I would really like to be to make it to one of these as the subjects seem quite interesting and controversial.

Hi. I'm a student in ARU but was a professional TV director in my country. Although I'm really poor at English, I'd like to hear everybody's opinion.

I used to write TV series for French TV . (And yes they're bad) quite puzzled about a future for TV , and curious of course.
