Hey folks, I'm Frank. Born and raised Calgarian looking' for some good people to share in my love of great music.
I guess I'm an advancing beginner. Much to learn. Pretty much a garden variety strummer but I can play along and have a few songs down fairly well.
I like to sing when I play and I do. I will also try harmonies. Now whether I actually "can" sing is another story. Whatever, most of my favourite artists don't sing so great anyways.
I love it all. Well almost all. Not so crazy about "Pop Country" or much of the top 40 these days but I truly like most genres. Hank to Hendrix, Folk to Hip Hop, Jazz, Blues, whatever, it's all good. Great music is great, period. Special place in my heart for Neil Young, Fred Eaglesmith, John Prine, Johnny Cash, the "Sun Records" boys and almost every singer songwriter out there.
This is a good thing. I was made to feel welcome right away. Very supportive and non judgemental group of folks here. Love of music is the common denominator.
I really enjoyed my first jam with everyone at your place and especially like your taste in music; I hope to sing Hard Sun (been singing in my head ever since you played it...) and Mad World with you. Do you anticipate any jams at your place in the near future? It is the perfect size and atmosphere for jamming, seemed better equipped for the large group of people you had that night. Hope your nights at the Bees Knees was successful, if you're playing again, please let me know!!
Looking forward to it. We have our world famous Parkland Deck Jams and this sounds like it would be a good fit.
Ah thanks Frank! It is always fun to see your smiling face and offering up all kinds of songs particularly the train songs! I see there are dues to pay - who do I pay, how much etc.?
Thanks very much
Thanks, Frank. It is a pleasure to jam with guys! I'm looking forward to play with you dudes again at the next jam date. That's a cool place to jam, kudos to Craig S. for organizing the jam.
