It was a great debate. I met someone there who is not part of the C4L movement...thus I didn't get to mingle w/ other C4L'ers. But the debate was great. Those critical of the Federal Reserve certainly made their points.
    •  He was good but I did also appreciate others on the panel and their feedback.
    •  I thought the debate was insightful and Peter certainly had his share of zingers. That said, I thought that George Selgin was the big booster to the Free Banking movement. He's a bit too pro Fractional Reserve for my liking, but otherwise, he has a great platform.
    •  He kicked their ass!
    •  It was important to hear different degrees of the issue at hand and that was fairly achieved by the speakers with their different positions (even though I disagreed with most of their stances). The moderation was fair and balanced, and used time efficiently. My only complaint was that it wasn't longer and that there wasn't more time for Q and A with the audience.
    •  Heard Peter shred the other talking heads to pieces. One professor, David, was a Canadian with some sense of history, had many bad words to say about central banking. His thoughts and observations seem to be very deep, but some of his statements seemed controversial, as he decried Griffin's Creature book, and shied away from saying he preferred a free market. He did say, too that as Central Banks go, the Fed is one of the better ones(!) The lady professor was a total Fed apologist and a drone, and Steven Axilrod had some criticisms of the Fed, but in large measure supported its mission. Do these people ever hear themselves talk? Looking out for the video of the event! Jim Azzola
    •  Schiff was amusing but there was really nothing too deep offered. I think the real issues behind the Fed were not addressed, only differing philosophies about whether it is an effective system or not, which seemed to entail the same historical facts being interpreted to fit the incoming bias.
    •  I don't know how many people were there to support Schiff. About 100 people in audience. Axilrod did a very good job, little or no disagreement between what Axilrod said and Schiff. Schiff presented his own agenda. Selgin was a surprise speaker and basically agreed with Schiff. Sharon Halloryn was a bomb. She reinvented history. Basically it was Schiff against the lady from Columbia University. But it was a poor debate format.
