The big guns have lined up against the “Federal Reserve Sunshine Act of 2009” (S.604), the bill that authorizes the Government Accountability Office to fully audit the Federal Reserve and its inflationary monetary policies. Senator Merkley (D- OR) and Senator Corker (R-TN) introduced a watered down version today of S.604 deceptively named the “Federal Reserve Accountability Act.” It is similar to the Kucinich bill in the House. This legislative subterfuge restricts the audit to emergency lending programs, which prevents Americans from learning anything about the destructive monetary policies that led to an artificial economic boom and subsequent bust, massive bank bailouts, foreclosures and millions of Americans losing their jobs. Call your two Senators tomorrow at their DC office and tell them that WE WILL NOT ACCEPT A COMPROMISE on S.604. Talking points: • It is not enough to examine the aftermath of the crisis last fall; we need to examine the causes of it! • The Federal Reserve’s monetary policies must be accessible to the GAO – a nonpartisan, independent agency who mission is to ensure that federal agencies are meeting their Congressional mandates lawfully, effectively and efficiently. • Congress gave the Federal Reserve the mandate of furnishing the country with a flexible currency, which expands and contracts in accordance with the economy, stabilizes interest rates and maximizes employment. The Federal Reserve has failed to meet its mandates given that the dollar has lost 95% of its value since the Fed was created, interest rates have been as high as 20% and near 0% and unemployment in some estimates is in the double digits. *It is imperative that you call senators Schumer and Gillibrand and let them
know that we will not accept anything less than S604* Senator Gillibrand- Washington, D.C. Office Telephone: (202) 224-4451 Senator Schumer- Washington, D.C. Office Telephone: (202) 224-6542

Dear Members, I will occasionally mention and recommend this meetup group's monthly meeting. A very well organized and professional group of investors, bankers and colleagues in finance meet to discuss the best ways to profit and monetize in the markets...whether equities, commodities, taxes, government..etc. The lesson leans on the technical side with a nice hint of fundamental Austrian economics. Members that continue to attend and head their advice have done better than average in returns. Also the organizer is a long time supporter of Ron Paul and the Freedom Movement. I will be attending and hope to see you there. Bill Our next General Meeting is on Thursday, September 24th at PS 41, 116 West 11th Street at 6:45PM. Our next class will be Commodity Investing. The class will be held on thursday October 8th at PS 41. It will be taught by John Donato. You can register at the next meeting. Registration for the classes takes place separately and not through the Meetup site. Agenda: General Meeting fee - $5. Free for former speakers (for one year), people working on our meetup projects or helping with the meeting and members of the press. 6:45 - 7:00 Introduction to the Group 7:00 - 7:30 Update on Credit Crisis and the Economy - the Stories You Don't Get from the Media - Daryl Montgomery 7:30 - 8:00 - Taxes for Investments - It's Not How Much You Make Investing, But How Much You Keep After Taxes - Michelle Blacksberg and Jonathan Perr 8:00 - 8:30 - Our Inflation Investing Philosophy; Where to Look in the Market Now for Good Opportunities - Daryl Montgomery

Advocating a philosophy of sound money, a non-interventionist foreign policy, strict Constitutional, and individual liberty, Dr. Paul inspired a unique grassroots movement unmatched in American history - the repercussions of which continue to reverberate today and into the future of the American psyche. For Liberty: How the Ron Paul Revolution Watered A Withered Tree of Liberty follows this historic campaign from the perspective of grassroots activists, and showcases the unique, often bizarre, yet groundbreaking projects they undertook, as they brushed aside traditional campaigning methodology. On Tuesday, September 15th, bipartisan activists nationwide unite to rally for the most important legislation in decades: the Federal Reserve Transparency and Sunshine Acts. Give two hours of your time to rally, show solidarity and deliver thousands of petitions to NY's Senators for the Federal Reserve Sunshine Act (S. 604). Rallies are being held at nearly each Senatorial office in NYC, Long Island, Buffalo, Rochester, Albany as well as throughout the nation. We have a small window of opportunity to push through the Federal Reserve Sunshine Act in the Senate. No issue is more urgent, more bipartisan or more pivotal to restoring liberty than providing genuine transparency and accountability at the Fed. Leading economists point to the Federal Reserve's loose monetary policies as the primary culprit of the financial collapse. Congress created the Federal Reserve and it is their responsibility to ensure the Fed is meeting its Congressional mandates. Many consider this semi-public/private institution at the heart of government corruption, un-Constitutional policies, unjust wars, transfers of wealth and infringements on personal liberty. Your search for the panacea of political ailments is found in Dr. Paul's legislation to Audit the Federal Reserve. Stand with fellow patriots at 3:30 p.m. before delivering petitions to Senator Gillibrand's office at 4 p.m. and persuading her staff to join the 23 Senators as a cosponsor of the Federal Reserve Sunshine Act (S. 604). Then march to Senator Schumer's office at 4:30 p.m. with petitions and encourage his staff to also cosponsor the legislation. Bring signs, cameras, Audit the Fed flyers, friends and your passion for change. Your organizer for this event is Anthony. Contact him here for more details: http://www.meetup.co m/members/8403487/ New York City Gillibrand 780 Third Avenue Suite 2601 New York, NY 10017 Schumer 757 Third Avenue Suite 17-02 New York, NY 10017 Long Island Gillibrand 155 Pine Lawn Road #250, North Melville, NY 11747 Schumer 145 Pine Lawn Road #300, Melville, NY 11747 Petitions THERE IS STILL TIME TO COLLECT 1, 100 or 1000 MORE PETITIONS FOR S. 604 and H.R. 1207! Manhattan Libertarian Monthly Meeting with CJ Maloney on A Human Experiment - "Arthurdale and the New Deal" For a time from the initial birth of the town in 1934, Arthurdale was the epicenter of the New Deal, the Roosevelt Administration’s showpiece for what could be done for the common man. It was the first and most lavishly appointed of all the Subsistence Homesteads, a rather small New Deal program with the big goal of redistributing "excess" population from one area to another, the hoped for end result would be a "new American," living a communal life that would be a vast improvement on our country’s traditional individualism. C.J. Maloney lives and works in New York City. He is currently writing a book on Arthurdale, West Virginia during the New Deal. He blogs for Liberty & Power on the History News Network website.
