Full Moon Snowshoe Hike!

Moonlight Snowshoe Hike! It was a blast the first time around, so why not do it again! So here is the plan. We meet at the Albertsons parking lot at 5:30PM. Figure out carpooling options. Then head off to have dinner at the Brewers Union pub in Oakridge: A family joint with good food and great REAL ALES. The moon will rise about 5:15PM, so if we get to the trail about 8:30-9PM it will be over head. Last time, the moon was so bright I didn’t need my light on the trail. But bring one anyway! You’ll need to rent snowshoes if you don't have them. Try Bergs ski shop or REI. Also if you plan to be a driver you will need two (2) one-day park passes. This will be an easy to moderate hike in the Gold Lake snow park. In oakridge we can decide what trails or shelter we can go to. My choice would be to take the Westview loop past the Westview shelter to Eagle rock for a panoramic view of Odell Lake in the moonlight! If we get a clear night. :) NOTE: This is a trip to the snow. It will be cold. Dress for the occasion. NO cotton please. (no Jeans) Info on Gold Lake Snow Park.

Great group. A little organization would be better. Parts of the Gold Lake Sno Park can be maze, as couple of people found out. Parts of the Gold Lake Sno Park can be a maze and it would be good to not allow people to leave the group unless they really know the area or have GPS (and know how to use it).

A map is more important than snowshoes!

I feel everyone had a good time with the hike. There needed to be a little more organization, esp. for a night hike while hiking through the woods. Other than that, good hike, good food, good beer, and great people.

Clear sky, incredible full moon, great pub, and we all made it back. Can't ask for more. Thanks Lars!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
