Tucked away near Waldo Lake, the Eddeeleo Lakes are named after forest service rangers Ed, Dee and Leo who originally stocked the lakes with fish. In late June we should have some great rhododendron blooms and still be early enough to avoid mosquitos. This hike will be a rather lengthy 9.2 miles with a per-the-book 700 foot elevation gain, so this one is probably not a great choice for kids or anyone who is not up for a longer hike. Be sure to bring water and something to eat as we'll be out there for quite a while. If we leave at promptly 9 am (which never ever happens) I'd guess we'll be back into Eugene sometime around 3-4pm, although those interested are certainly encouraged to stop in Oakridge for an adult beverage.
