I decided to move the date of this hike to Sunday, which I hope will be better for people.
What: Patterson Mountain / Moved to SUNDAY
When: August 2,[masked]:00 AM
Albertsons @ Hilyard & E 30th
3075 Hilyard St
Eugene, OR 97405
Note: (This hike has been moved to Sunday and no longer includes an overnight option)
This is hike #81 in the book, 100 Hikes in the Oregon Cascades
by William L. Sullivan.
The hike starts about 30 miles from Eugene. It is 4.6 miles round trip with 600 feet elevation gain.
At the 1 mile mark is the Lone Wolf Shelter. We'll stop there on the way back and start a fire if it's not too hot. I'll try to bring some marshmallows, graham crackers and chocolate.
I did this hike 2 years ago, and it's a great view from the top, not too long or difficult, and stopping at the rebuilt shelter is a lot of fun. Bring something to eat at the top, and at least a liter of water.
We'll meet at the Albertson's at 30th & Hilyard at 10 A.M. on SUNDAY morning. Look for my silver Nissan XTerra.
We will be leaving from the trailhead at about 11:00 a.m. If you'd like to go straight to the trailhead, here's how to get there:
For fellow GPS freaks, the trailhead is located at:
