How about we go on Saturday because some of us do work!!  The moon is shiny and bright for more than just one night.  Just keeping everyone in mind, including myself.

Anywhere is walking distance, if youve got the time.

Great idea, Kim. I'll set this up soon.

Gold Lake area is my stomping ground, so I know it very well. I always overprepare, so I'll have enough stuff for any contigency. (I'll bring the pulk sled I use for camping)

Full moon is actually at 10:18 p.m. Friday night. Sunset is around 5:15 p.m. both nights, but moonrise is 5:02 p.m. Friday, or 6:25 p.m. Saturday.

I'd like to leave Eugene around 2 p.m. Friday to start up the trail around 4 p.m. We could get to Eagle Rock (Odell Lake) viewpoint while it was light so we don't fall off the cliff! Then we could watch the sunset/moonrise over the lake from the prettiest spot in the area. We can try starting a bonfire at the viewpoint, or just go back to the Westview shelter and roast something over a fire for dinner. This would be around 3 miles round trip.

If you want to go, please let me know if you can get away on Friday, January 29th at 2 p.m.

Bill

Hello all,

I would really like to do the full moon snow shoe at Gold Lake Snow Park again this year.  Full moon on Saturday the 30th!

Fearless leaders... can you set something up?

Kim
