Upper Sioux Agency State Park May 10-12.
Unfortunately because of the ground conditions the park was closed during the scheduled trip to this park at the end of April. I have reserved campsite #9. Everyone will have to get their own campsite (or make arrangements to share with someone else). When I made my reservation no other site had been reserved. The park is along the Minnesota River and there are a couple of fishing access areas. The park has 18 miles of hkiing trails.
E-mail me if you have any questions.
From the park's website:
Upper Sioux Agency State Park contains the site of the Upper Sioux or Yellow Medicine Agency. The park was established in 1963 to preserve and interpret the remains of the old Agency site. The park covers 1,280 acres and offers diversity: open prairie knolls, bluffs, and cool, wooded slopes. From the vistas, visitors enjoy the trails which are ideal for horseback riding, hiking, skiing, and snowmobiling. The park also offers a huge sliding hill for winter fun.
