Lake Maria State Park

We'll be at Lake Maria State Park June 6-8.  We will be in Group Campsite #2.  The park is pretty close to the Twin Cities so none of the hassles of a long drive.  The park has 14 miles of hiking trails.  The park also has boat, canoe and kayak rentals.  The early bird reservation cost will be $20 per person and sometime in January it will bump up to $25.  Full refunds available until May 22.  The $20 ($25) covers the cost of the campsite and firewood.  E-mail me if you have any questions. - Brett

Check out the park's website for more on the park.

Thanks once again for organizing Brett! I was disappointed when my tent was leaking in the middle of the night and I had to pack up and go home. Guess I can't tent if it's raining and will have to get a new tent at some point. Thanks again! :=)

Great time at the park. I ended up with the double hot dog fork left at the site. Not bad for all the stuff that was spread out! (maybe yours Alexa?) I will bring it to the Frontenac campout.

That was mine Dave. I had a feeling I would forget that when I leaned up next to the tree. I'll be on that trip so I would appreciate very much if you brought it. Also thanks for all the help when I got there. I appreciate. Just feel very good Saturday, but was rejuvenated with sleep at had lots of energy on Sunday.

Thanks all for making it a great weekend. And to Brett for organizing. Despite the rain and mosquitos, it was a wonderful time. Hope to see you again this summer.

Unexpected work assignment so won't be making it there tonight. Will be there tomorrow dependent upon weather.

Sorry to say I won't make this trip. Camper not allowed so thought I might tent it or come for day to hike, but I unexpectedly have Kira so my hiking would be too limited. Have fun and see you maybe at Cascade State Park in a couple of weeks!

Is anyone else camping in a tent? From what I see on the weather forecast, it's supposed to rain Friday night, Saturday....I'm wondering if there is a shelter or what everyone's plans are if it rains? :=)

Hi Julie. Yohann and I will be in a tent. Hopefully it won't rain a lot. If it does become miserable and there's no shelter, we can probably find a pub in Monticello to wait out the rain. See you tomorrow!

Hey Tim, are you the same Tim that went to Bemidji two weeks ago? If so, you didn't have the dog then lol :-=)

My German Shepherd Yohann and I will be joining you. I'm looking forward to it! Hoping for a lack of rain. See you on Friday!

    Hi All,

What's the goup policy on dogs? I have a very easy-going friendly German Shepherd that I like to take camping.

I'm hoping to go on this trip; just waiting to be sure I have the weekend available before I sign up.

Hi Tim, My two small pups come with me when I go camping with the group. They are a six lb maltipoo and a 7 lb toy poo. I think it's just the park policy to make sure you abide by as well as the respect of people who may not like dogs etc. I haven't ever had an issue with bringing mine. Maybe ask Brett.

I am wondering do you bring your own tent and make your own food? I have never camped with a group before, do you have a session for newbies on camping?

Thanks Brett, I have my own tent and I can bring my own food, tool
