Gooseberry Falls State Park

Gooseberry Falls State Park in August should be great.  We will be in the Nestor Grade group site.  Check out the park's website for more about the park.  The cost will be $25 per person for the weekend.  The trip will have a limit of 12 initially until next spring/summer and then I might add a few more spaces.

E-mail me with any questions,
Brett

From the park's website:
Gooseberry Falls is the gateway to the North Shore. It is known for its spectacular waterfalls, river gorge, Lake Superior shoreline, Civilian Conservation Corps log and stone structures, and north woods wildlife.

Listen to the thunderous roar of the Upper, Middle and Lower Falls of the Gooseberry River as it plummets through a rocky gorge. Watch for waves, ships, or the moon rise on Lake Superior from an ancient lava flow known as the Picnic Flow.

Hike or ski to see the Fifth Falls through a forest of evergreens, aspen, and birch, and enjoy camping in modern campsites, picnicking, and relaxing along the Lake Superior shoreline or the Gooseberry River.

To get the most out of your visit, stop by the Joseph N. Alexander Visitor Center where you can find park information, interpretive displays, a park video, Nature Store, and more. Don't miss the Gateway Plaza for outdoor interpretive signs on area resources and history.

I was just wondering w food I can give money if there is some one that is bringing it. Also the only gear I would be bringing is for sleeping. Should I bring any thing else besides things for me??

    August 13, 2013

    • Brett

You just have to bring things for yourself. I recommend you bring a chair for sitting around the fire. You should also bring food to eat.

      August 13, 2013

  • Brett

You just have to go to the campsite. You will have to get a parking permit if you don't have one.

    August 13, 2013

  • Cherie

Brett do I need to bring the print out for payment with for the campsite payment for rangers to see or can I just go in the campsite when I arrive? I was planning on being there around 12-1 PM.

Car pooling....when I head up north I'm always leaving early to visit family over the weekend, either on my way up or on my way down. Not sure anyone would want to spend all that time with me visiting, running errands for my mom, etc.

I'd like to join but which one of u ladies would I be able to car pool w?

    August 8, 2013

  • Brett

I had replied, don't know where it went. Your friend would have to pay $25.00 also. I will be at the park in the morning.

    1 · August 8, 2013

  • Cherie

Brett it is because it takes 3-5 days to clear from my bank to deposit into paypal. So could you answer me about if I bring a friend with in my tent would it cost her $25.00 too or would she just be considered a guess? Also what time do you expect to be there.

    August 7, 2013

  • Cherie

I will be coming but need to wait for my Paypal transaction to go through. Does it cost to bring a friend too? Also what time will you be there> I took the day off.

    August 7, 2013

    • Debbie

I hope to be there by 3; I'm making a few stops on the way.

      August 7, 2013

  • Margie

I'd love to go but won't know for sure for another week. I hope there will be a spot for me. I have my own tent.

Hi Brett! When you do camping meetups, do you have an itinerary or do we just go with the flow? I know everyone has their own personality when it comes to hosts.
