  • ***EVENT CANCELLED DUE TO WEATHER***

HOWEVER, if you would still like to venture down, please do! A few people may still want to convene but we will not be putting on the sausage sizzle so you will need to bring your own food. (We will of course issue refunds for those of you who have paid!) We would love it if some of you still would like to catch up today as the weather may fine up a bit. If you are still going, maybe post a message on the Facebook page.

Hopefully we will see most of you at Pig 'N' Whistle (123 Eagle Street) tomorrow!

    ********************

    It's our day!

We will be in the area where the red arrows are on the attached map. (At the top of the park, near to where Parkland Boulevard meets Wickham Terrace. If you can't find us, call Jamaica on 0449613383.) Parking is indicated by blue arrows.

QCC will be supplying a sausage sizzle (snags, onions, bread, sauces), but it would be great if some people could also bring along a salad or a dessert to share. That seemed to work out well last year.

We will provide napkins, but please bring a plate and your own cutlery if you think you'll need it. Also bring a picnic blanket, chairs if you like. BYO drinks and cooler, but note that the glass is not allowed in the Parklands (and they typically enforce this).

Does anyone know if there's a covered area in case it rains? The Gold Coast event has been switched to inside because it's supposed to be a pretty rainy weekend here.

Is this the same place as last year (the hill above the playground)? Many people had trouble finding it at the time because it's not in the standard picnic areas.

    June 17, 2013

    • Erin

Same place, yes! If anyone has trouble, please refer to the map. See you all then.

My first comment. It's nice to connect to Canadians so far from what was once home. I wonder what it will be like to not have an accent for a while.

    Hi,
I'm not Canadian but have met some awesome Canadians and would like to meet more.
I don't want to to impose on your day though.
Would this be a suitable event for a non-Canadian to attend?

Wow, we don't even live there yet and there's already 2 events to choose from! We currently live in Melbourne but are hoping to move to the Gold Coast by April. We're not sure if we should attend the Brisbane Canada Day party or the Gold Coast one! We'll have to think about it and get back to you I guess.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
