My name is Brian and I am an assistant organizer of the British MeetUp. ?I consider myself an honorary Canadian as I worked for the Royal Bank of Canada for years.? Anyway, the Brits and Yanks are having a joint MeetUp holiday party and wanted to invite the Canadians and Australians.? I have emailed both organizers but haven’t heard back thus fear that they are busy or away.? Therefore I wanted to send you the details directly.? With still over a week to go, we have over 50 RSVPs so should be a nice event.? Hope to see you there. ??

Meetup Description

Christmas comes but once a year. When we were young though, it seemed much longer as we had waited patiently for that special toy that we knew would be under the tree if we had been nice which was so much easier when you were a kid.

Now we are adults and there aren't too many special toys waiting for us under the tree anymore and Christmas seems to come faster and faster every year. (Is it almost 2010 already?) Instead of toys though, there are Christmas parties which are, frankly, even better. For some, these are quite boring affairs. Others, as per this article in the Telegraph, http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-500884/How-pull-office-Christmas-party.html, have a completely different agenda. To each their own. But, for most, they are a good excuse to have a few drinks and hang out with friends especially in France when nobody works in December thus who needs to be up early the next day.

Consequently, the American and British MeetUp are organizing a joint holiday event. (We have even invited the Canadians and Australians). So whether you are celebrating Christmas, Chanukkah (the C is silent) or Kwanzaa, come join us.

We have reserved the downstairs for our shindig but there will also be live music in the upstairs. Or, if you are a fan of live music, come for the music and stop by at our party.
