I missed these two last week but I hear it was awesome!
It looks like there was water last week and with the rains expected later this week there could be more so be prepared for that with drybags and adequate layering.
I've copied most of the info from Deven's meetu-up last Thursday.
Classic Canyon and Fall Creek Canyon are both located in the Big Tujunga section of the San Gabriel Mountains. Together these canyons are a 6 mile 3A-II / 3B-III trip requiring rappelling (possibly in cold falling water), pool and river wading, down climbing, and scrambling. They require 5-6 hours to complete. About 7 raps: (Classic) 25ft, 40ft, 160ft(?), (Fall) 25ft, 35ft, 20ft, 70ft.
Located north of Burbank/Tujunga, about 12.2 miles up Big Tujunga Canyon Rd from Foothill Blvd at Forest Road 3N27. Loop hike, no vehicle shuttle necessary. Elevation is about 3,100-2,300ft. Splash suit, drybag, and adequately warm clothing necessary. Wetsuit optional. Participants should have at least a “low-intermediate" skill set and comfort with rapping in a waterfall.
@TEAM: (Minimum) 200' rope, 120' rope, 70' rope, 50' webbing, 4 rapides.
@INDIVIDUAL: harness, helmet, descender, prusiks, locking biners, splash suit (water gear), neoprene socks, headlamp, food/water, and any other typical personal gear.
