Winter solstice hike and practice

1. Hike to the Kumeyaay Observatory for sunrise. The sun's ray appear to be split in two by far off Lyons Peak. OJ served at the t/h and oatmeal, granola, coffee, etc at the site (while supplies last),
2. Practice immediately following at MTRP. Practice is for experienced canyoneers only please.
Breakfast courtesy of a generous grant from the Caffrey Foundation, which donates 100% of its profits to.....well, whatever it decides.
Note: trailhead we will use is the Barker Trailhead. The SD Nat History canyoneers will be leading a hike from the more popular south t/h on Golfcrest. Meetup time is before morning twilight, you will need a headlamp. Kumeyaay polychrome pictograph courtesy of the Caffrey Collection, Cave of the Rising Suns, southern Anza Borrego Desert. Thanks Tracy and Rob and thanks to Tara for reminding me what really counts, eleven days of vacation. Chris, enjoyed the practice.
If ya gonna run with the Big Dawgs, ya gotta get off the porch.

Report please on hike and especially lunch in Tecate. We might need to do lunch after Kitchen Creek descent or find some other excuse, Corte Madera? Inaja? You know what I like.

Quickest route from the north- 5 or 805 to 52 east to 125 south, exit Navajo, right turn three blocks to Boulder Lake Ave, right again to Barker Way, right again short block to t/h. My cell for last minute-[masked]-5230. We will have breakfast at t/h, no cooking at observatory. Quiet please at t/h, neighbors will appreciate.
