SILVER ON THE SIDE CANYON 3AIII
This trip is open to those who have graduated from Klaus' Advanced Class or have significant experience in technical canyons.
This canyon is located in the Big Tujunga section of the San Gabriel Mountains and provides an excellent and exciting canyoneering adventure with big rappels near the end. We will be using the Deven/Maxon approach in order to avoid a car shuttle and 2 hours of hiking.

NOTE: Since this is not a guided trip and because canyoneering is a team sport where every member should be able to rappel well, inspect anchors, build new anchors, rig for all contingencies, manage ropes efficiently and contribute in every aspect of the adventure, anyone who's profile doesn't reflect the appropriate training or sufficient experience will not be allowed to participate. The leader retains discretion on who attends.

Here are the directions to the parking area, even though we will be meeting
Ralph's Market 10455 Sunland Blvd, Sunland, Los Angeles, CA 91040, Located north of Burbank/Tujunga, about 7 miles up Big Tujunga Canyon Rd from Foothill Blvd. Turn right onto Vogel Flat Rd leading to Stoneyvale Road (GPS: [masked],[masked]) and then turn left at the T-junction to Stonyvale Parking Area:[masked],[masked], (1840ft). Approach starts by following Grizzly Flat trail south-east for a half mile.
